Blinn

One of the earliest and largest landowners of the Coyle area. In 1856 Marshall Blinn and partners started the mill at Seabeck, WA. They had previously formed the Washington Mill Company in San Francisco. Blinn began to acquire land patents and other means of obtaining property in and near Coyle.

One of his earliest properties was acquired February 12, 1962 another was received March 11, 1871. Much of his property was deeded to the Washington Mill Company. Blinn was a lumber merchant who planned ahead. When he arrived at Seabeck to start that logging operation and sawmill, he took advantage of other wooded property within easy reach. Coyle provided a great resource for Blinn's company.

His residence remained at Seabeck with his wife Julie, until he retired at an early age. By 1872 he was no longer involved in the Seabeck Mill, and was living in Olympia.
